South Africa LAUNCHED 2009
  • VisionSpring partners with WDB Group, who focuses on women’s livelihoods
  • WDB has trained over 15,000 rural women and supported over 16,000 jobs
  • 50% of South Africa’s population lives below the poverty line
In South Africa, VisionSpring partnered with WDB Group, or Women’s Development Businesses, to franchise our Business in a Bag to their extensive network of entrepreneurial women in Nelspruit. VisionSpring trains these women as Vision Entrepreneurs to sell over-the-counter VisionSpring products, providing them with another income-generating activity.

History of the Program

The WDB Group was born in 1991 when its oldest structure, WDB Micro-Finance, was founded. Through its Business Development Skills Program, WDB empowers women to start small businesses and become leaders in their communities. In 2009, VisionSpring and WDB launched a partnership with an overwhelmingly successful pilot program signifying an opportunity to reach a new, vast market.
