On May 5th, CBS Evening News with Katie Couric highlighted VisionSpring
The CBS Evening News team recently traveled to Rajasthan to learn the moving story of Ranju Sharma, whose work as a Vision Entrepreneur was so well respected that she was the first woman ever nominated to run for village chief.
An excerpt from the segment:
"In the rural village of Keharpura in Rajasthan, India, opportunity for women generally means the chance to clean the house. But Ranju Sharma quickly finishes her chores - she has patients to see, reports CBS News correspondent Seth Doane. 'Before I was known as the wife of my husband,' Sharma said. 'But now I have my own identity.'"
