VisionSpring's El Salvador Program is defined by strong local leadership and a deep rural reach. Our Santa Ana office serves as a base for reaching the rural Western part of the country and as a storefront for Vision Entrepreneurs to conduct vision screenings and sell glasses.

In 2002, VisionSpring began working with Salvadoran Association for Rural Health (ASAPROSAR), to launch its first Vision Entrepreneur program. In 2004, VisionSpring branched off to form its own local entity. VisionSpring continues to partner with ASAPROSAR, as well as the eye care organization FUDEM to provide referral services to customers.

Today, under the leadership of Country Director Heidy Serpas, VisionSpring El Salvador is a self-sustaining entity that provides sustainable employment and eye care services to Salvadorans.
